Jasper Knight (AUS)

Jasper Knight is an Australian artist from Sydney born in 1978.

He is the grandson of economist Sir Harold Knight.

Knight paints in a representational style but incorporates into his pieces a level of abstraction. Knight is most famously known for his automotive illustrations, particularly that of the ‘Vespa’ but is also an avid abstract landscape and portrait painter.

Jasper Knight has been a named finalist in the Archibald Prize six times. In addition he had been a finalist in the Wynne Prize in 2005, 2006, 2011 and 2012. He has also been a finalist in the Sulman Prize in both 2013 and 2015.

In 2008, Jasper won the 2008 Mosman Art Prize.

Jasper’s use of bold, vibrant colours, defined line work and street art style make him a distinct and recognizable, great Australian Artist who will be revered for years to come.
