  • Provenance: Wentja Morgan Napaltjarri was born in the region northwest of Kintore located approximately 530 km west of Alice Springs and close to the border with Western Australia.

Wentja is the sister of the renowned artist Tjunkiya Napaltjarri and is the daughter of Shorty Lungkata Tjungurrayi, one of the original founders of the Papunya Tula.

Papunya Tula is an artist cooperative, formed in 1972 that is owned and operated by Aboriginal people from the Western Desert of Australia. Credited with bringing Aboriginal art to world attention, the group is known for its innovative work with the Western Desert Art Movement, popularly referred to as ""dot painting"".

Wentja's art style incorporates a system of connecting circles and dotted bands painted on top of fields of tonal colors. Her paintings feature a reoccurring theme of numerous roundels of different sizes. These roundels represents the rock holes where her family regularly camped accompanied by a charged energy field of intricate dots.

In 2002 Wentja was a finalist in the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award. Wentja has participated in exhibitions in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide leading to her work being exhibited widely across Australia.
